I was logging commutes from the Fitbit into Strava, and wasn't getting any GPS data - or, oddly enough, just getting GPS at beginning and end of a trip or weirdly intermittently.
The Fitbit app didn't complain about anything.
Getting tired of this, starting to shop for a new smart watch (looking longingly at the Samsung Galaxy Watch7).
This morning, I logged a commute with Strava, and it immediately complained that GPS was not going to work very well because I had a battery power saver setting wrong. On Android 14 that's "Battery" / "Power saving" / off to fix that. Everything seems to work now.
I'm ready to exit the Google / Fitbit cinematic universe and switch over to Samsung, to be honest - the Fitbit app should have caught this and complained right away and offered to fix it. As a bonus, Samsung will buy back the Fitbit for way more than it's worth if I get a new watch. Decisions, decisions.
