Snow days go on television: Channel 2 snow day listings, Channel 4 snow day listings, Channel 7 snow day listings. These all cover greater Metro detroit.
Snow days go on the radio; check 24 hour news stations like WJR and WWJ.
Snow days are announced without the assistance of the media, e.g. Ann Arbor Public Schools which publishes directly.
