Ann Arbor power outages and brownout, July 31 2007
Peter Honeyman reported a downtown (48104) power blip on Twitter, enough to trip power strip circuit breakers.
The DTE power outage map shows 101-1000 people without power in 48103, and 1001-2000 without power in 48105 as of 1:16am. (My embedded microcorrespondent in 48105 relocated to 48197, which reports 0-100 out.)
We kept up power at home, but my little energy meter reported voltages as low as 117 volts - that's within spec (120 +/- 5%) but I don't know if it's "normal". Lights flickered a few times and my home router rebooted (yes it should be on a UPS).
Getting ready to start an "ann arbor power outage" category here.

Mallett's Creek library is closed with a power outage this morning.

Here's an older video press release from the electric company that kind of explains what's going on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdqTzpZUEcY
