Ann Arbor power outage, June 27 2007

We lost power on Depot street at about 230 PM. Reports of outages on north Main and other power reliability issues across the area.

We got a ton of rain all at once and the rainwater detention ditch at the building next door is full.

This would have been a good time to have had a rain barrel, or to have put in a water garden.

UPDATE: DTE outage map (pdf) - excerpt. At 410pm power is back on on the Huron St. side of downtown. I'm online at Primo Coffee.

UPDATE: July 5 outages by comparison (715 pm map). We lost power for a couple of hours at home, and a few minutes at work inconveniently during a conference call to Iowa.

We lost lights at the Grad, but that was it. Which is good, I guess if you have to lose power at all.

I'm at Primo Coffee now, and the lights are on here downtown - but they aren't on the other side of Huron St.

Power was out to part of the Michigan Theater at around 2:30 - office area down, main theater still up, Borders across the street still up. But around 2:45, everything went down. (I've left there; not sure if it's back up, either in part or in full.)

powers out on S 7th south of washington but on to the north
