Saul and I went to Farmer's Market.
At the market: apples (Cortland and Ida Red seconds, $3/peck), acorn squash ($1 ea), sweet dumpling squash, butternut squash, arugula ($2), leeks ($2/bunch), potatoes ($3/quart), green peppers, hot peppers of various kinds, corn (4/$2, negotiable if you want a big bag), cooking onions ($1.50/box), green onions ($0.50).
I asked about frost. Only one farmer reported having frost, on one field about 7 miles south of Milan. I don't know if there's a weather product that shows a frost/freeze map. The last frost for this area (zone 5b) is nominally 20 October or so, give or take for global warming.
After lunch we went to Kosmo Deli at Kerrytown, which was absolutely packed. We both had bi bim bop (비빔밥) which had mushrooms in it something we are not used to from other places. (Saul loves mushrooms). Then a quick trip up to Mudpuddles and back home.
