Menu plan blogs
Here's a review of some of the blogs that show people planning their menus for the week.
I'm ignoring the ones that are mostly diet blogs, and those people who blog about cutting coupons to save a few cents on frozen dinners, since neither approach is very useful in our house. What I'm really after is vegetarian menu planning blogs, and that should end up being very seasonal and very local. Not sure I'll get that.
Weekly Dish - photos of the blogger's weekly menu plans, and frequent recipes. She's writing from Baton Rouge, LA, and most of the recipes are not vegetarian. Very nice approach to posting the menu plans.
The New Homemaker - Drupal site with a forum on menu planning, basically once a month they open up a new topic and people post what they are cooking.
Quirky Cook - buys 3 weeks worth of food at a time, plans 17 meals, gets the groceries delivered, freezes a bunch of meat, etc. Not a practical approach if you're eating a lot of vegetables.
43 Things - 12 people want to do a weekly meal plan, but one person who has says it's not worth it.
I added "vegetarian" to my search and unearthed:
Organikal - a menu planning strategy for vegetarians who get a CSA delivery - it involves planning the week's meals after you get your share of vegetables.
Veggie Way - vegan recipes from Turkey, and a photo shoot of a spread laid out for some "omni" friends who weren't used to vegan food.
Insubordiknit - mostly a knitting blog, but interspersed in it is a blog entry on how the author runs a weekly menu plan.
thanks
Ed
I often cook an entire week's meals at a time, but haven't blogged my efforts yet. I do occasionaly post a recipe, like my recent entry on how to host an impromptu dinner party for nine neighborhood kids who've invited themselves over.
"Yes, my mom said it was okay" came the response, eight times in succession, each making their way to the washroom before finding a seat at the table.

Hi Ed - Thanks for the link to www.organikal.com.
Menu plans are essential for me - I'm hopeless without them!
Local menus must be real hard to find.
Are there any other factors, excluding vegetarian that you'd like included?
