In my new job at the School of Information I inherited a certain amount of clutter. I'm doing what I can to get rid of it, slowly, systematically, until it's all gone and until all the files and paper and stuff I am responsible for fit inside my desk.
Some tools along this path:
del.icio.us/tag/clutter has a good stream of news and articles.
John December's Live Simple is a good manifesto to living a low-clutter life.
Occasional postings in 43 Folders, Lifehacker, and the other productivity blogs, best left as a once in a while diet and not a steady splurge.
Karen Kingston's Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui, and David Allen's Getting Things Done.
A box to put office supplies into to return the the main office. A labeler to relabel the folders so the label describes what's actually in the folder. A big recycle can near the desk.
