Google Maps pedometer
There's a new Google Maps application out there, gmapPedometer, which helps you take a route that you have (or are going to) run or walk and figure out what the distance is. I've been looking for such a thing for a while to help sketch out reasonable routes to go on for my new fitness goals, and it looks like just the thing.
Unlike most trip-planning software aimed at the needs of automobiles this lets you make any arbitrary turns down the wrong way on one-way streets or go around in circles if that's what you're after. You click a series of waypoints on a Google map and it calculates distances and plots the route for you.
Thanks go to George Hotelling for spotting this one.
