The Wisconsin law that would have restricted collective bargaining by state employees is on hold as Judge Maryann Sumi issued a temporary restraining order on March 18, 2011 barring its publication, pending review of violations of the Wisconsin Open Meetings Law (Wis. Stats. §§ 19.81-19.98) in a legislative committee. Sumi is a judge in the Dane County Circuit Court. The suit was brought by Ismael R. Ozanne, the Dane County district attorney.
